So things were a little unorganized and I have to accept the blame for that. But other than missing one game completely, and possibly playing the wrong team on the wrong court, it was a pretty successful day overall! The Eagles represented for the Toronto Ballers Club with 3 big wins, and if only I had my shit together, we would probably have won all 4 and be the team to beat in the standings. Anyways, the day ended with a crazy thunderstorm, so overall it was definitely a day I won’t be forgetting anytime soon!

So after losing BD to the Clip, Chris Mullin had no choice but to lock up Monta Ellis long term. He got the 666 deal, 6 years, 66 million. Now the undisputed face of the franchise, the Warriors continue on after losing Jason Richardson and Baron “Too Easy” Davis over the past two offseasons. But no worries, because Ellis was engineered for Nellie ball and even though they may not be championship contenders, the Warriors should be one of the most electric teams in the Association.

For those looking for a good read, be sure to pick up “Inside the Cage” by Wight Martindale Jr. The novel chronicles the characters and events of the world famous West 4th Street courts in Greenwich Village NYC. The people who work on the tournament each and every summer get $10 a day for their efforts as running the event is truly a labour of love. Inside the Cage is inner city street ball at its best. Raw, gritty and entertaining.

NBA Summer league is in full swing, and there is tons of hype for the rookies coming into the association. At draft time everyone was talking about Rose and Beasley going 1 and 2. Greg Oden is also set to start his highly anticipated NBA career in ‘08. But you know what, I think it’s going to be O.J. Mayo that turns the most heads.
